The 80’s is more than just a place to play; it’s a neon-soaked journey back to the golden age of arcade gaming. We blend a high-energy retro arcade vibe with the cozy, laid-back feel of a neighborhood lounge to create Downtown Hutchinson’s ultimate hangout. Our mission is to preserve the nostalgia of worn joysticks and high-score chasing, all while serving up a modern social experience where community comes first.

Operating Partner
Proud to be born and raised in Hutchinson, Kansas, I’m excited to be back home after spending 17 years in Texas. As an ’80s kid, I grew up on roller skates and classic video games, on the Atari and eventually the Nintendo and Sega systems. Some of my favorite games included Pitfall, Frogger, Contra, and Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!
After graduating from Buhler High School, I continued my education at the University of Kansas and Vancouver Film School, where I earned a degree in Film. After returning to Hutchinson, I began my career in the events industry at the historic Hutchinson Fox Theatre, working as a Film Coordinator and Technical Assistant.
My career later took me to Austin, Texas, where I worked for 14 years as an Event Manager in the audiovisual and live events industry. During that time, I helped plan and execute corporate events and conferences for major companies, including Samsung and Dell, as well as events such as South by Southwest (SXSW). These experiences allowed me to build a strong foundation in event production, operations, and creating memorable experiences for attendees.
Now, I’m thrilled to be back in Hutchinson and reconnecting with family, friends, and the community that helped shape who I am. I look forward to sharing the knowledge and experience I’ve gained throughout my career and finding meaningful ways to contribute to the community in a positive way.
In my pastime, I still enjoy roller skating, cooking, watching movies, and spending quality time with family and friends.

The 80’s Arcade & Neighborhood Lounge is a project of Selwyn Investments LLC, inspired by a love for Downtown Hutchinson, community, and a little nostalgia. We’re bringing new life to a downtown space with classic arcade games, inviting lounge seating, and a place to gather over coffee, cocktails, and conversation. Our vision is simple: create a welcoming neighborhood hangout where memories are shared—and new ones are made.
